We build an environment that is safe, comfortable, and encouraging for the children in our care; an environment that fosters personal growth and challenges students to develop lifelong habits and behaviors for successful living in their communities. The Residence provides our students with concrete reminders that they are important, competent and are fully capable of functioning in our world. We create a living environment where our students can learn how to build relationships of trust among a diverse community of adults and peers. We teach our students to make responsible choices based on respect for themselves and for the other people in their lives and their communities.

The residential staff members are all highly trained in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI), a nationally accredited program certified by Cornell University. This training provides students with care takers who have the skills that allow them to intervene and offer counseling to insure students deal with issues that may arise in a safe and mature manner.
