Dear Martin de Porres High School Parents/Guardians:

We are preparing for our return to the Rockaway site on Monday, 1 April 2013, the day we return to school after Spring Break. Everyone is looking forward to our return, and we intend to celebrate with a “Spirit Week” from 1—5 April. Details will follow.

 

Since the “A” train does not yet go to Beach 116th Street, a few options are offered. The Q53 LTD is the best bus if a student is traveling from the Bronx, Brooklyn, or Queens. It can be accessed anywhere along Woodhaven/ Cross Bay Boulevard from the Queens Center Mall on Queens Boulevard. Students may take the “R” train to Woodhaven Boulevard, the “J” train to Woodhaven Boulevard or the “A” train to Rockaway Boulevard and pick up the Q53 LTD. Students coming from Far Rockaway may take the Q22 bus which will stop one block from the school.

 

Students who take a yellow bus should know that the bus companies have been notified of the date of our return and will pick up and drop off students accordingly.

 

Please note that communication devices and other electronics will be collected before students enter the school and returned to the students at dismissal. In case of emergency, parents must contact the student through the school’s telephone system.

 

We will hold Parent-Teacher Conferences on Wednesday, 10 April 2013 from 2:15—6:15 PM. The Third Marking Period will end on Friday, 19 April 2013, and Report Cards will be mailed on Wednesday, 24 April.
