The Board of Directors reflects a diversity of ethnic, professional, personal and religious backgrounds and affiliations and is charged with the legal, fiduciary responsibilities for the Lasallian ministry of Martin de Porres School and Group Homes.
Board responsibilities have been divided into service committees which include the Executive Committee, the Board Formation and Renewal Committee, The Staff Development and Support Committee and the Finance Committee.
Membership on the Board is determined through a search and nominating process which is conducted annually and membership includes varying terms of office for continuity and succession purposes.
The Board and Staff engage together in an annual retreat to review and embrace continuing formation in the Lasallian mission. Each Board member is committed to supporting and providing for the future of the Martin de Porres Lasallian Mission.
The Board is responsible for the annual evaluation of the Chief Executive Officers of the schools, group homes and residences and provides a supportive and responsible presence for the contractual renewal evaluation of the prospective executive officers.
The primary role of the Board is to ensure fidelity to the founding Lasallian Mission and to be supportive to those charged with the administrative responsibility to carry out this mission.
The Board fully accepts it fiduciary responsibility and oversight for the financial operations of the programs.
The Board supports program and administrators and staff through annual visitations, dialogue, and review of program goals and policies.
The Board reviews and ratifies of vision of program initiatives presented by the administration and provides appropriate supports to fulfill these initiatives.
The Board meets (4) times annually as a full board with committee meetings scheduled in the interim.
