The Martin de Porres School in collaboration with the FSC Springfield Gardens Community and St. Mary Magdalene Parish sponsored the opening of the community outreach center for youth in summer 2000.

The Martin de Porres Youth Hospitality and Enrichment Center Provides a home away from home for at-risk neighborhood youth ages 7-18 to socialize, experience alternatives to delinquent behaviors (anger, violence and gang activity), and to enhance academic, athletic and social skills through educational, athletic and counseling programs.
