The Martin De Porres after school program offers a range of activities beneficial to our students. The children are bused directly from their schools and brought to MDP and immediately have play time in order to burn off some steam. They are then taken to our state-of-the-art cafeteria and given a well-balanced snack. Afterward the children are brought to a classroom with a state certified teacher as well as several assistants to complete what is referred to as “homework time.” This is a designated time period that the children attend every day. It consists of an hour and forty minutes when the kids are assisted with their homework which is then checked to ensure completion and correctness.

Then it is special time. Each day the children participate in two activities. A variety of which are offered such as; art, poetry, wood shop, culinary arts with a trained chef, dance, computers in a state-of-the-art computer lab, board games, air hockey, and dodge ball. The kids are exposed to a diverse array of activities which not only advance their education, but which the children genuinely enjoy as well.
